What the API exposes

The API provides read access to publicly listed coupon codes, deal titles, store names, categories, expiry dates, and discount values. It does not expose any personal user data, account details, saved coupon records, or private submission metadata.

Authentication and rate limits

All API access requires a valid API key issued by BigCoupons.lk. Keys are bound to a registered developer account. Requests are rate-limited per key to prevent abuse. Exceeding the rate limit will result in temporary suspension of the key without prior notice.

Permitted use of API data

API data may be used to display coupon listings on your own platform, build integrations, or power deal-comparison tools — provided BigCoupons.lk is attributed as the source. Reselling or republishing raw API data as a standalone product is not permitted.

Prohibited API usage

You may not use the API to scrape and mirror the full coupon database, feed automated spam systems, or circumvent any access controls on the platform. API keys found to be misused will be revoked immediately.

Coupon code name restrictions

All coupon codes and deal titles submitted to or displayed on BigCoupons.lk — whether entered directly, submitted by users, or ingested via the API — must comply with the following naming restrictions:

• No misleading titles — coupon names must accurately reflect the actual discount or offer. Titles that exaggerate, fabricate, or imply a saving that does not exist will be removed.
• No trademarked terms without authorisation — coupon code names may not use third-party brand names, trademarks, or slogans in a way that implies endorsement, affiliation, or partnership unless you are the authorised representative of that brand.
• No offensive or harmful language — coupon titles and descriptions must not contain profanity, discriminatory language, or content that could be considered offensive, harmful, or in violation of Sri Lankan law.
• No keyword stuffing — titles must not be padded with unrelated keywords, repeated phrases, or spam-style text designed to manipulate search results or discovery rankings.
• No impersonation — coupon names must not impersonate official store promotions, government schemes, or well-known campaigns in a way intended to mislead users.
• No adult or age-restricted references — coupon titles must not reference adult content, gambling, tobacco, alcohol, or other age-restricted categories unless the listing is for a legally operating, age-verified platform and has been pre-approved by BigCoupons.lk.

BigCoupons.lk reserves the right to rename, edit, or remove any coupon code or title that violates these restrictions, with or without notice. Repeated violations by API consumers or registered users may result in account suspension or API key revocation.

How we protect your data

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
• Hashed and salted storage of passwords — we never store your password in plain text.
• Regular security reviews and access controls to limit who can access user data internally.
